Avlo

Customized content by topics of interest to consume on different ways and places
Project Overview
This project was a collaboration developed during the Ironhack UX/UI Bootcamp, we were seeking for an editorial design solution that matches with the needs and goals of Elaine, our user persona.
My Contributions
I've mostly worked on the UI part of the project - benchmarking, creating the style tile and prototype.
The rise of the digital press has seen a tremendous peak over the last years. The audience is increasing as Millennials grow older, demanding all sorts of content.

The best magazines and newspapers had already launched their digital version in early 2000, but it has been only in the last 5 years that the digital experience started to take its own shape.

With numbers increasing, publishers are prompted to deliver quality content along with a great digital product for readers to experience a different but still unique act of opening up a magazine and dive into it.

At the same time, other types of content, such as podcasts and videos, are getting stronger and attracting a bigger public.

In this context, Avlo has came out. Avlo is an app and website where you can find content from the major newspapers, magazines and streamings.
Context
To better understand the contents that Elaine would like to see and keep up with, we've made a very deep exploration to really empathize with her.

With the information gathered on this phase, we've created a moodboard to help us guide our design decisions on the project.
Persona & Moodboard
The idea of avlo as the name of the product came from the combination of four Portuguese words that represent what avlo stands for.

- Atualidades - News

- Ver - See

- Ler - Read

- Ouvir - Listen

Basically, the name summarize what avlo has to offer. It combines content from different media, all in one place. Now, users like Elaine, that likes to be updated about what is happening in the world without wasting time checking different sources, will be able to check and compare all them at the same place
Creating AVLO
My participation on this project was mostly on the UI part. After creating a style tile, I've developed the high fidelity prototype based on sketches made about what we expected and planned for the app.

As the idea was to create an accessible product, responsiveness was a very important characteristic for it. The app version was our priority, but we've also created a desktop version.
The result
