BLF - Baby Looney Foods

Wellness App - An app to make food introduction and cooking easier
Project Overview
The BLF is a wellness app directed to mothers, fathers and anybody else that is part of food introduction phase of a baby. It was created based on research about the most common difficulties and struggles of this phase.
My Contributions
I've worked on this project by my own, from the discovery phase to the prototyping and testing phase, during the UX/UI bootcamp at Ironhack.
Despite the fact that the main public is people going through food introduction, the app can be helpful for anybody, as it is a recipe's app.

Amanda Cruz is the user persona on who I've based some of my design decisions.

To better understand the users, I've made two types of research: survey with mothers and netnography, checking posts on theme-related Facebook groups.

With the survey, I've found out that the Baby-Led Weaning and the Participatory Approach are very used nowadays. Although the Ministry of Health recommends the traditional method. For that reason, I've decided to include the three methods on the application, this way it can be useful for everyone, regardless the method followed.

Another exploration I've made during the discovery phase was related to the contents.

First, I explored what they want to know, what is more relevant during the food introduction. I've found out that mothers want to know how to prepare the food for their babies, they want to have easy access to recipes. Therefore, I've included a recipes' session on the app divided on food preparation, because it is important that the baby eat them pure at the beginning, and recipes, for the family and for the babies as they grow.
How it started
On the other hand, first-time mothers want to learn more about the methods, they have a lot of doubts and insecurities. So, giving access to a guide and relevant information can be really helpful for them. And this is why I've created an explore session.
Another finding
During the research, I've explored the best way to present the contents for the users and found out that mostly of them prefer texts or videos. Based on that, I've decided to use both depending on the case. For example, on recipes, the user can choose to watch the video or only follow the written steps.

Another finding from my research was that some mothers use the baby sleeping and breast-feeding time to read. Because of that, I've created a dark mode so they can consume the contents of the app during this time without disturbing the baby with the light.
And there was also that
